Making a Difference

I found myself putting on make-up at 9:00pm on a Saturday night to go out with some  friends. I don’t know when the last time was that it happened but I know it’s been awhile. Does this make me old? Perhaps I’m climbing the age ladder but I’m not old yet!

The people I went out with were almost all young enough to be my children. Two of which I’ve known since they were wee little ones and as precious to me as if they were my own. I enjoy young people and I have a passel of teens – young adults that I get the privilege of spending time with on occasion. A lot of them attend my church, but not all of them do. I love their thirst for life and their discovery of reality. I enjoy how they are uninhibited and full of life. I also like to think I make a difference in their lives in some small way.

We decided to go cosmic bowling and had a great time. Even though by the end my back and knee were giving me fits (ok so maybe I am getting old) it was so worth it! I talked the manager of the bowling lanes to take our group picture.

What a great looking bunch, don’t you think?

Something to think about: Have you made an effort to make a difference in someone’s life lately?
